There’s not much wrong in this world that

can’t be overcome with a couple of acoustic

guitars, a couple of well matched voices,

a pretty melody, tight harmony, and good

strong lyric.

There is an unpredictability playing music that

makes it just as compelling as golf.

You never know one day to the next how well

things will come together.

On the golf course some days you hit every

fairway but can’t chip – or can’t make a putt….

in music some days the voice is strong but

the finger picking isn’t as precise as you’d

like it to be – or the voice is a little raspy

but the chords fashion together telling a

story all by themselves.

I play for those days when it all comes

together – and each song I play I play again

thinking it can always be just a little bit better.

In golf , in music, it’s not nearly so much

the final score…it’s the pursuit.
