The end of the golf season is pretty much here in
Fort McMurray.
The Fort McMurray Golf Club is closed and Miskanaw is
no longer taking tee times and shutdown is imminent.
My first season of golf in northern Alberta has been one of
great fun. My handicap has blossomed upward as my
focus shifted entirely to recreation. For the first time in
decades my rounds played were reduced to 40 - something
from usually topping out somewhere in excess of 100.
I played for the joy of "being out there", the company,
the good shots and the bad, always with the view to having
a laugh or two. My goal next year will be to make the full
transition from Atlantic Golf Radio to Alberta, or Western
Golf Radio.
I doubt my approach to my own game will change much at
all. Enjoy the good shots and endure the bad ones. |
